About Us

Here, at the South West of Scotland GA, we have a committee of 14 members which includes, at present, 4 Office Bearers.

Our new Chairman, Mr Ian White, has been involved in the working gundog world for many years, probably more than he would care to count.  Ian has been involved, and has been active on the South West's committee for years and as such brings a great deal of experience to the role of Chairman.  Ian has owned many gundog breeds over the years including Working Cocker Spaniels; Springer Spaniels; Labradors (black, yellow and chocolate).  One of his most memorable and treasured dogs was Bryne, a chocolate Labrador who he took to Open Trial standards.  Currently he has two young chocolate Labs, one being the son of Bryne, who is proving to be very much like his father both in temperament and personality.

Ian was also the proud owner of a Great Dane Mastiff cross which he trained to help to find deer in his day job as a Forest Ranger.  He is also about to embark on a new journey with a Working Clumber Spaniel Pup.
